BB Cream vs CC Cream - What's the Difference?

I have been getting so many questions about the difference between the new Lavera CC Cream and their original BB Cream. Both products are just awesome but they are also quite different so I've asked Aimee to do a comparison for us (completed with pictures) so you can see the colour difference between them and which one is best for you.

I have been getting so many questions about the difference between the new Lavera CC Cream and their original BB Cream. Both products are just awesome but they are also quite different so I've asked Aimee to do a comparison for us (completed with pictures) so you can see the colour difference between them and which one is best for you.

Hi, Aimee here, I have been on the search for the perfect, beautifying, colour correcting tinted moisturiser for everyday wear [that’s not too much to ask, right?] and it has led me to a stand off between the Lavera 6 in 1 BB cream versus the Lavera 8 in 1 CC cream. Read on to find out the difference between the two, the pros and cons of both and who was the winner!

Firstly, the Lavera Beauty Balm. Though this product was easily applied [I used a brush] it did streak a little but was then easily blended using my fingertips. Thicker than the CC cream, it provided great coverage to hide freckles, pigmentation, dark circles and uneven skin tone. For areas on my face that needed more coverage, I simply applied another layer.

It is also a slightly darker, more olive colour than the CC cream, which worked well for my more tanned skin tone. I also loved how the organic acai berry, jojoba oil and shea butter in the BB cream moisturised my skin and kept it feeling sift and dewy the entire day. I have combination skin and the BB cream gave a really natural, matte finish, it really did give the perfect no make-up look. I would recommend the BB cream for those with a slighter darker or more tanned skin tone and normal, combination and/or oily skin.

Now the CC cream- this was definitely lighter in consistency and colour though still blended into my skin tone nicely. It was easily applied and fairly spreadable on the skin. It felt smoother and silkier on my skin than the BB cream but did not give as much coverage. It was however, much more effective in blurring fine lines, and evening out skin tone. Through a little research, I found that this was because the CC cream contains Camu Camu, which is the one of the highest source of vitamin C available. I also found that it was more effective in plumping and brightening my skin. I would recommend the CC cream for those with fair to normal skin tone and dry, normal and/or mature skin.

PHOTO4_left All in all, the 8 in 1 CC Cream was a better all-rounder and what I feel would suit more skin types. I did love the coverage, colour and moisturising benefits of the BB cream but the CC cream was more effective in brightening my skin, evening skin tone and smoothing fine lines.
