There are many different types of Rosehip oils on the market, they range from cold pressed, C02 extracted, pure, blended and more, plus they range in prices and potency.

What is Rosehip Oil?

This amazing oil is literally taken from the ’hip’ of a rose. Once a rose has bloomed and lost its petals, only the fruit of the rose is left over. From that the rosehip oil is taken!

What are the benefits of Rosehip oil?

There are so many incredible skincare benefits that Rosehip oil provides! Here are a few stand outs:

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a great antioxidant that has anti-inflammatory properties to helps repair skin and calm any redness or irritation. It also helps to protect the skin from sun damage!

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is another antioxidant that fights against those free radicals causing cell damage. Vitamin C helps to prevent wrinkles, ageing and infections. It also helps with wound repair and promotes healthy cell development.

Essential Fatty Acids
Rosehip oil is full of Essential Fatty Acids which nourish and maintain healthy skin. These fatty acids also work to repair and regenerate skin!

Lycopene
Lycopene is one of the most powerful antioxidants that helps to improve skin texture and prevent premature ageing. It’s also beneficial to the immune system.

How can you use rosehip oil?

Rosehip oils are so easy to incorporate into your daily skincare routine! They’re best applied morning and night after you’ve cleansed your face. Just apply to damp skin in place of a serum and let it sink in before putting on your moisturiser. You can even use on its own without adding any moisturiser. Using a rosehip oil daily can help to smooth wrinkles, diminish the appearance scars (including acne scaring), burns and stretch marks. Other benefits may include the fading of pigmentation from pregnancy and sun damage.

Which rosehip oils do I love?

Pai BioRegenerate Rosehip Oil
This Pai Rosehip Oil is one of the most highly concentrated rosehip oil on the market and my personal favourite! This oil is extracted with volcanically sourced CO2 rather than the traditional cold pressing method. Pai claim this oil contains double the regenerative sterols and five times the carotenoids of regular Rosehip Seed Oil. You an see right away how strong this is by its dark orange colour and from the intense smell. It also includes 100% natural Vitamin E (from Sunflower) making it a fantastic option for those with very dry skin. $39.95 for 30ml and housed in frosted glass.

RosehipPLUS Australian Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
More of a budget buy, the RosehipPLUS Rosehip Oil utilises high quality cold pressed Rosehip berries to create a potent oil that is rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins and phytochemicals. This multi-use oil can be used to support elastin and collagen production, and can smooth your complexion and and also target the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be great for helping to treat stretch marks, scarring, mild forms of eczema and pigmentation! $19.95 for 30ml.

KORA Organics Noni Glow
Miranda Kerr always raves about the benefits of using rosehip oil, so it’s no wonder why she created her own! KORA Noni Glow is a luxurious treatment oil which combines pure rosehip oil with Noni Extract, Sea Buckthorn, Jojoba and other beautiful oils which work together as a potent treatment for helping anti-ageing, sun spots and pigmentation. This is also a great choice for using on the back of hands as well as the face.

ECO. Face Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
This pure rosehip oil from ECO face is a great budget buy at only $17.95 for 15ml, it is Australian Certified Organic and a pure, cold pressed rosehip oil housed in amber glass. Because this is only rosehip oil, it is a great choice for using in combination with other skin care products.

Life Basics Pure Rosehip Oil
The Life Basics Pure Rosehip oil is another great budget buy at $24.95 for a larger 50ml bottle. This is a pure cold pressed rosehip oil and it is my favourite choice for when you need to apply to many areas on the body such as older scars on the legs and arms and stretch marks.
