There are many times during the week when I find myself needing hand sanitiser. These situations include (but are not limited to!) using public restrooms, travelling, having meetings and going anywhere with kids!

Hand sanitisers are great portable alternatives to using soap and water when you’re out and about. They really are the perfect antibacterial solution for when you need to freshen up on the go!
I always make sure to keep a travel hand sanitiser in my handbag, because you never know when it will come in handy! Especially if you have little kids with sticky fingers! Hand sanitiser is also one of my travel must haves because it’s perfect for freshening up after spending hours on a plane or in an airport.

With so many hand sanitisers on the market it can be hard to find one that is natural and safe to use!

Why should we be using natural hand sanitisers?

Did you know that regular hand sanitisers are full of nasty chemicals? You only have to smell them to know they shouldn’t be applied to your skin! Many natural hand sanitisers are also alcohol free which means they won’t dry out your skin.

I know how hard it is to find a good natural hand sanitiser, which is why I’m so excited to share with you the Squeakie Natural Hand Sanitiser that is available here on Nourished Life! This hand sanitiser is one of a kind because it is an Australian natural hand sanitiser that also complies with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Centre for Disease Control (CDC) hand sanitiser guidelines! It’s completely natural and made with pure natural milk whey alcohol to remove 99.99% of germs. That’s impressive!

The Squeakie natural hand sanitiser has been created using a combination of sea kelp, rosehip oil, aloe vera and vegetable glycerin which makes it super moisturising! This sanitiser also has a subtle lime scent which makes it perfect to keep in your handbag or on your desk. One of my favourite things about Squeakie as a brand however, is that 10% of their profits are donated to causes that need a little helping hand!

Triclosan in hand sanitisers

Triclosan is a common ingredient that most of us don’t know enough about. It’s an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent that is included in many personal care products such as hand sanitisers, toothpastes and deodorants. You may even be using products containing triclosan without knowing it! It is a controversial ingredient because its effects on hormonal balance and bacterial resistance is still unknown.

Natural hand sanitisers however, are triclosan free which is another reason why I choose natural products over chemical any day of the week! It’s just not worth the risk and I personally think natural products work just as effectively for my family needs.

Which sanitising products do I love?:

I’ve mentioned how much I love the Squeakie hand sanitiser but I have also have a whole range of other natural germ killers, in different formulations from gels to lightweight sprays to suit absolutely everyone!

Hand sanitisers come in a variety of formulations but one of my favourites is a convenient sanitiser spray Bondi Wash has a great Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitising Spray which kills bacteria and sanitises hands using only natural ingredients! It contains very little alcohol and is full of great ingredients like Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to leave your hands feeling soft!

Another hand sanitiser spray I love to use is the Dr Bronner’s Hand Sanitising Spray. This essential oil hand sanitiser is the perfect travel size and contains up to 500 sprays, so it will last you a long time! It also has a great lavender smell and is completely chemical and GMO free!
