No matter how you spend your day, odds are your hands are the ones doing all the work. The skin on your hands comes into contact with a whole host of environmental irritants and as a result, our hands are can constantly be dry and require serious attention!
Most hand creams tend to be quite thick compared to all-over body lotions or face and eye creams. This is largely due to the fact that they need to work hard to penetrate through the rough surface of the hands and nails. Products that work naturally together restoring the skin’s moisture and repairing daily damage are the way to go.
We have a great range of natural hand products at Nourished Life to help restore tired hands and I have put together some of my favourites, which will leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth!

Skin health is maintained by an oily solution called sebum of which 25-30% is made up of wax esters. The main role of these wax esters is to hold moisture in the skin so as to keep our skin looking and feeling firm. As we age, our production of wax esters starts to decrease which means that moisture begins to escape from skin cells. Jojoba is the only plant known to produce wax esters similar to those in our skin. The Jojoba Company Jojoba Oil is an amazing oil which provides similar nurturing and moisturising properties as our own sebum, to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin, normal moisturisers can’t reach, which allows for rich nourishing which helps keep ageing at bay!

While we might remember to use sunscreen on our faces, our hands are just as exposed to the sun and need to be looked after! As someone who is always on the road, driving my kids to school, I always remember to put sunscreen on the back of my hands. Two of my favourites are the UV Natural Sunscreen SPF 30+ a hydrating formulation that is absorbed into your skin quickly so you have a smooth, non-greasy finish) and the Eco logical Body Sunscreen SPF 30+ (a natural sunscreen that is water resistant for 3 hours and doesn’t clog pores!).
Our skin is the largest organ in our body with different areas of varying sensitivity. By selecting all-natural skin care products, you can be sure they are powerful enough to protect while still being gentle enough to be safe!
