Why You Need Natural Dental Floss

You don’t cook with Teflon coated pots and pans, so you wouldn’t put it directly into your mouth, right?! It’s not widely known or thought about, but most mainstream dental flosses are often made from Teflon, and are coated in synthetic wax often made from petroleum-based ingredients.

In case you don’t know, Teflon is basically a synthetic chemical known as Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) commonly used in non-stick cookware. A known toxin, Teflon can cause a number of health problems from the common flu (or otherwise known as ’teflon’ flu) to much more sinister conditions (which we won’t go on about here because that is a whole other kettle of fish)
