Why We Love Lanolips
Lanolips is the brainchild of Kirsten Carriol, who spent a great deal of time on her grandparents’ sheep farm throughout her childhood. Given her surrounds, Kirsten grew up with an acute understanding of the hydrating powers of lanolin. Lanolin being the wax secreted from the glands of wool-bearing animals, like sheep!
Kirsten spent her early adulthood at the helm of a beauty PR firm, trying and testing new beauty products as they launched and watching how the public responded to them. Noticing a gap for a deeply hydrating lip treatment that didn’t just give a temporary, superficial feeling of moisture, Kirsten revisited the ingredient she knew so well ’ lanolin!
What Makes Lanolips 101 Ointment So Special?
The idea to launch Lanolips struck Kirsten back in 2003, and she launched with just one hero product six years later - Lanolips 101 Ointment. The 101 Ointment contains just one ingredient, pure lanolin. Kirsten wanted to showcase the quality of the ingredient and its ability to really hydrate the lips and skin without the interference of other ingredients.
Lanolin itself is almost identical to the skin’s own oils, holding its own weight in moisture and working to lock moisture into the skin or wherever you choose to apply it. Lanolips is a natural ingredient, and while not all ’pure lanolin" is of the same quality, the lanolin used by Lanolips not only deeply penetrates and hydrates the skin, but feels comfortable, luxurious and never sticky or oily to use.
How To Use Lanolips 101 Ointment
Lanolips 101 Ointment was formulated to be used in multiple ways. The name ’101 Ointment" actually came from the product’s 101 uses!
Some of the most popular ways to use this cult product are as a traditional lip balm, as a cuticle treatment, as a brow gel, to smooth down flyaway hairs or create a sleek updo, on particularly dry patches of skin, and even inside the nostrils whilst flying to prevent the air conditioning from drying out your nose!
