For those days when you just don’t have time to wash your hair or fuss over styling, dry shampoo comes in handy! They’re such time savers and perfect for freshening up throughout the day. We all know how fantastic dry shampoos can for cleaning your hair without getting into the shower, but did you know they can also be used to conceal blonde roots or boost volume? Dry shampoo actually has a long list of uses that really help when you’re in a hurry!

How can you use dry shampoo?

To boost your hair’s volume!
If you have fine or very straight hair that has a tendency to fall flat, use dry shampoo to boost volume! I recommend spraying dry shampoo into the roots of your hair and leaving for a few moments. Then tip your head upside down and massage the product into your roots for instant volume!

To increase hold!
Dry shampoo isn’t only for dirty hair! Sometimes when your hair is too clean, it can be hard for hairstyles (particularly curls) to stay put, as your hair is quite slippery. To add some grit to your hair, massage a small amount of dry shampoo into the roots!

To conceal dark blonde roots!
If you’re a blonde looking to conceal darkened roots in between touch ups, I recommend using a powder dry shampoo to distribute the white product into your hairline. Be careful however, as this will only work for those with very light hair!

To help your bobby pins grip!
To prevent bobby pins from slipping out of your hair, dry shampoo can help! I find that the best way to achieve all day hold is to spray your bobby pins with dry shampoo before putting them into your hair!

To create messy waves!
If you have curly hair (styled or natural) but want a messier beach waves look, dry shampoo can keep hair from sticking together. Simply spray dry shampoo all over your hair, using your fingers to comb through your curls.

To remove grease and oil!
The most obvious use for dry shampoo is simply to remove any oils and grease in your hair! This allows you to rush out the door quicker or elongate the life of your blow dry. It’s also perfect for freshening up your hair throughout the day!
