What works?
There are two main types of exfoliants ’ grainy scrubs or liquid AHA’s, and scrubs formulated for the face are far more refined and gentle than those designed to slough off dry skin on your body. Grainy scrubs work by literally buffing off dry skin. AHA’s, or alpha hydroxy acids are in serums and lotions and work to break down the bonds between dead skin cells to lift them away and encourage cell turnover.
No microbeads in my shop
Microbeads are tiny particles of plastic used in products generally to exfoliate (think body scrubs, toothpaste, and yes, facial scrubs). They don’t dissolve, and instead get into waterways where they can be ingested by marine life. I’ve never sold products with microbeads, and thankfully, they are being banned and phased out in Australia from July 2018. Most of our scrubs contain jojoba beads, which do a gentle but thorough job of exfoliating skin.
