Battle of the Organic BB Creams
We asked the gorgeous Bridget, one of our regular customers & natural makeup devotee, to help answer the frequently asked question - what's the difference between our new La Mav BB Cream and our best selling Lavera 6-in-1 BB Cream. Here is Bridget's review, pros & cons and before/after shots of these 2 beautiful products!
I have been on the lookout for a natural, everyday mineral foundation and have been lucky enough to get to test these two great organic BB Creams. The Lavera 6 in 1 Beauty Balm and the La Mav Certified Organic BB Crà ̈me. Both are packed full of amazing ingredients and without any nasties - if they did they wouldn’t be going any were near my skin!
Firstly, the Lavera Beauty Balm. The product comes in a great squeezable tube and smells clean and natural. When applying it to the skin (with my fingertips) it does streak a little but that is avoided by smoothing it out and blending any excess makeup. To get further coverage I simply apply another layer and I’m set for the day with an even complexion. It has an olive brown pigment to it and blends well with my skin tone. My skin feels hydrated, light and free. I love the use of the acai berry and almond oil for hydration and protection against free radicals alongside the moisturising ingredients of olive oil, jojoba oil and shea butter that left my skin feeling super soft.Second, the La Mav Organic BB Crème. It has a smoother consistency with light beige tones that glides across my skin giving even coverage - slightly more coverage than Lavera. My skin feels hydrated and all redness and blemishes disappear with a mattifying finish (I love matt coverage as I have slightly oily skin). The scent is a little bland (I do like my floral aromas!) however once the crà ̈me is set it is unnoticeable. Some of my favourite ingredients are in this product; jojoba and aloe vera hydrate and moisturise my skin leaving it feeling smooth and silky. And rosehip is amazing with its wonderful antioxidant rich, free radical fighting power - it's never too early to start fighting against those fine lines and wrinkles! This is a winner in my books.
All in all, the Lavera BB Cream had a lighter coverage and was more dewy while the La Mav BB Crà ̈me had a fuller coverage with a more mattifying finish. My preference would be the La Mav Organic BB Crà ̈me not only because of it’s perfect matt coverage also it’s sun protection and completely Certified Organic list of ingredients that leave my skin feeling soft, smooth and happy!
