Stay Hydrated (and give your skin an extra boost)
No makeup product can help you with dry, dehydrated skin, so itβs important to make sure youβre drinking a minimum of 6 glasses per day to stay hydrated on the inside out and achieve that dewy-fresh glow. I love the Water Co Ace Alkaline Water Filter because it removes fluoride & other impurities from tap water leaving you with clean, pure tasting alkaline energised water- so your skin AND your body will be better off!
I also like to add supplements to my water to give my skin an extra boost without any extra effort. The Beauty Chef GLOW ADVANCED Inner Beauty Powder can be mixed into your water (it tastes like berries!) to help promote a healthy gut, which therefore boosts skin vitality, and may help give you plump, glowing, hydrated skin.
A Healthy Body Leads To Healthy Skin
We all know that exercise leads to a healthier body. What we often forget, however, is that the skin is an organ that can benefit from exercise too! When we work out, our heart and lungs pump blood and oxygen around our body, nourishing each and every cell- including our skin. Movement stimulates the lymphatic system and promotes the release of toxins through the skin via sweat, which instantly gives a tired complexion a boost of luminosity. Exercise can also help to reduce stress, which is often a cause of adult acne.
Staying fit is easier said than done though, but there are a few handy devices that I've found really helpful when it comes to working towards your fitness goals. Once such item is the Philip Stein Horizon Sport Bracelet - Black that has been constructed to aid an athletic and jam-packed lifestyle. While it may not make you incredibly fit, it comes with the brand's signature Natural Frequency Technology disc that acts as an antenna to pick up and channel beneficial natural frequencies to the body. This aims to help improve focus, overall performance and balance. It is water-resistant to 200m and is also available in white.
Think of sleep as an activity that you can track as well. I recently learned just how important a good night's sleep is for our overall health and wellbeing, and I've written all about it here.
Put An Emphasis On Your Skincare Routine
Start thinking of skincare as a necessity, like drinking water and cleaning your teeth. I find that when I'm having a "good skin day," my makeup will glide on smoother, plus I'll use less of it because I don't want to cover up that natural glow.
Products that work to hydrate your skin will help you achieve a beautiful glow without any makeup, so look for nourishing day and night creams that work to lock in moisture. I love Dr. Hauschka's Revitalising Day Cream when I'm having a no-makeup day, as it contains a blend of oils including Apricot Oil, Witch Hazel and Almond Oil that may help balance the complexion, making your skin look smooth and even without having to apply a foundation or BB. For the evenings, I'll often reach for Andalou Naturals Purple Carrot + C Luminous Night Cream, as the potent dose of Vitamin C in it may help erase pigmentation overnight- meaning no need for concealer the next day!
Hyaluronic acid is also a great ingredient to look for as it is able to hold 1000 times its own weight in water! Even when I've been using a hydrating day and night cream, I like to work a 100% Pure Caffeine Mask into my routine to deliver an extra moisture boost in just 20 minutes.
