How To Get Super Hydrated Skin

Our best tips to stay hydrated all day and all year long!

Our skin contains up to 30% water, which helps to give it that plump, smooth appearance. But drinking water alone is often not enough, because water travels through the rest of the body, like our vital organs, before reaching and hydrating the skin cells. But when we are dehydrated and that water level is depleted, it not only causes dry flaky skin, but also makes the skin appear to be more wrinkled and sagged than it actually is. Environmental factors like the cold weather, heating and office air conditioning characteristic to winter in Australia will also cause water levels in the skin to drop.

Luckily at Nourished Life we have found the perfect solution, and it’s amazing. Although we are huge fans of filtered water, organic coconut water and a good herbal tea, our new favourite is The Beauty Chef's Hydration Inner Beauty Boost, and it does so much more than hydrate our skin.

PHOTO1_right The Beauty Chef’s secret? She uses an organic, bio-fermented and coconut-infused probiotic designed to support gut health and enhance the skin from the inside out. Meanwhile, the other six billion digestive-balancing probiotics, electrolytes, minerals and vitamins promote optimum skin health and general wellbeing through improved oxygenation of the blood, circulation and gut health.

This organic concentrate has even been described as ’revolutionary’ for skin hydration. Made with organic coconut water, aloe vera and lemon myrtle, a 15ml shot of this each day may help to combat dry, dull skin as well as preventing fine lines and other signs of ageing.

Coconut water is naturally high in electrolytes and is said to be superior to regular water in rehydrating the body, working to balance the pH levels of the skin and keeps connective tissues strong and hydrated. It also contains cytokines, lauric acid and anti-oxidants to fight free radicals that prematurely age the skin.

The second star ingredient is organic aloe vera, full of beta-carotene and vitamins C and E, which naturally hydrates the skin and increases firmness. Aloe vera is also a powerful anti-inflammatory that may help accelerate skin healing.

Carla Oates promises ’It tastes like you’re on holiday and makes your skin look that way too!"

For optimal results and glowing skin, add 15mls into 200ml of filtered water daily and remember to always moisturise morning and night to create a physical barrier between your skin and the environment and lock moisture in.
