How Facial Oils Help Acne!

Using facial oils on oily, spotty skin sounds like completely contradictory advice, but use the right soothing oil and you could actually have clearer skin with less breakouts in no time.

The cause of breakouts are different for everyone, but it’s a skin condition that needs such gentle care and attention. This is where nourishing facial oils come in. Whether you're treating genetic, hormonal or stress related pimples, facial oils have a variety of benefits, including minimising inflammation, redness and scarring. I am a convert to facial oils, especially when stress makes my skin break out like crazy! Here are my favourite types of facial oils and oil cleansers, how they work and who they're best for.

Jojoba Oil

This classic oil is non-irritating and may help to balance oily skin, as well as treat breakouts. It works so well because it’s similar to the skin’s own sebum, so it can penetrate deeper to moisturise skin in the same way our own natural oils work. To cleanse, rub a few drops on your fingertips and spread over your face. Using a really warm face cloth, wipe over your face and repeat. You might find your skin feels so moisturised afterwards that you don’t even need moisturiser, depending on your skin type. An all time classic moisturising oil, nourishing Jojoba is best used after cleansing at night for revitalised and replenished skin when you wake up. To make a spot treatment, mix a few drops of antibacterial tea tree oil with a few jojoba oil drops and apply onto the spot for overnight results.

Cleansing oils

Oil has the ability to gently melt and clean away excess sebum, dirt and makeup from your skin, leaving it nourished, smooth and hydrated, without clogging pores. Some cleansers emulsify with water, others need a hot cloth to gently but thoroughly remove dirt, grime and excess oil. Cleansing oil also works beautifully when you double cleanse for extra hydration, or follow up with the facial oil of your choice.

Black Chicken Remedies Cleanse My Face Organic Purifying Oil Cleanser
The Black Chicken Remedies Cleanse My Face Purifying Oil Cleanser is a calming, luxurious cleansing oil containing 14 pure medicinal oils, including skin loving Jojoba, Castor Oil, Sweet Almond and Macadamia to deeply cleanse the skin and uplift your spirits. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is known for its ability to fade dark spots and acne marks, brighten the complexion and offers anti-ageing benefits too. ECO. Face Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin A

One of the most respected anti-ageing ingredients, Vitamin A also slows down the skin cell shedding process, which is an issue with acne. Acne skin sheds and flakes too quickly, and when mixed with excess sebum, creates spots. Use it as a treatment in a facial oil, serum or oil. Be sure to check directions as some Vitamin A products can make skin extra sun-sensitive.

ECO. Face Vitamin A Serum
Best used only a couple of nights per week, the ECO. Face Vitamin A Serum contains a powerful dose of Vitamin A in the form of microencapsulated Retinol, which is released on the skin as it's applied and when it's most active allowing for optimal penetration. Due to the intensity of the Retinol, which can increase the skin’s sensitivity to sun, this serum is for use overnight only. This enriched formula also contains Aloe Leaf Juice, Calendula Flower, Elderberry Fruit Extract and Olive Oil which may help to promote cell turnover, discourage pigmentation, even tone and assist in the control of breakouts.
