Healthy skin should naturally slough dead skin cells from the surface, but for most skin types, exfoliation is a necessary step that helps the internal processes along. It isn’t a daily process, but, for most skin types, exfoliation is required once or twice a week for the following reasons:
1. Removes dead skin cells
Once cells reach the end of the life cycle, a helping hand might be required to remove dull and lifeless cells from the surface. Removing dead skin cells with a gentle exfoliant can brighten the complexion and enhance the overall glow.
2. Encourages cellular renewal
New cells appear brighter, healthier, and more youthful. As we age, cellular renewal slows down. Exfoliation is necessary to promote the process and slow the signs of retention keratosis, acne and keratosis pilaris.
3. Increases serum absorption
Removing dead skin cells keeps pores clear to allow for better serum absorption. The active ingredients in serums can then penetrate deeper helping them work harder and faster. By the time cells reach the surface, cells are stronger, more nourished and visibly brighter.
What NOT to do
While it’s a general rule that everyone should exfoliate, some skin types shouldn’t. We recommend you always speak to a skincare expert before exfoliation if any of the following apply:
™ You have an impaired barrier function (sensitised skin or chronic skin conditions)
™ You take medication such as Roaccutane or any other vitamin A derivative
™ Your skin is red or inflamed
How to exfoliate

Bx Reveal directions for use
Bx Reveal is provided in individual sachets for your convenience and to keep the product fresh. Open sachet and mix with three pumps of Bc Refresh Cleanser in the hand to gently mix into a paste. Apply gently to the face and massage with wet fingertips for two to three minutes. Rinse well and allow to air dry.
