We are totally obsessed with the Eco Minerals mineral foundations. Made in beautiful Byron Bay, this is an absolutely flawless, completely pure, foundation that provides natural looking but full coverage in your perfect skin shade. Arguably the best loose mineral makeup we have ever found, these foundations have excellent "build up" coverage meaning that you can just do one application for a light, natural look or you can add more layers to create fuller coverage to even skin tone and hide any pigmentation or blemishes.
The range also comes in 2 finishes, for either oily/combination skin Flawless and normal to dry skins Perfection. This mineral makeup is not sparkly like some and you'll find it doesn't settle into those fine lines around the eyes like many others. They come with reusable containers so you only have to buy the refills when it's time to re-order PLUS a 100% satisfaction and colour match guarantee! All for only $33.00
We have had a lot of questions about the level of coverage on this make up range and many have asked if they give the same lasting coverage as liquid foundations, so we've asked new customer (and liquid foundation devotee) Charlotte Mortlock to do a little review for us!
Charlotte:
Today I tried out Eco Minerals powder foundation. I was given a few different coloured samples, which was actually lucky because I was surprised to see I was a different colour than normal. In a lot of cosmetic brands I fall into the ’Olive" colouring so this was the first colour I tried with Eco Minerals. However I found on application that is was far too dark and I didn’t look dissimilar to an oompa loompa! I washed my face and tried again, this time with the ’light tan".
This worked a thousand times better for me. The colour was great and vibrant and provided a fantastic coverage. I always wear liquid foundation so I was quite skeptical of the level of coverage a powder would provide but I was pleasantly surprised. I had a few blemishes and blackheads on my forehead and was thrilled to find the foundation greatly reduced the visibility of these. The powder is either extremely lightly scented or not scented at all as I couldn’t smell anything, which was quite refreshing.
I didn’t wait long enough between applying my moisturiser and the foundation and I felt this affected the consistency. With powder foundations it is always important to give your moisturiser enough time to settle before applying the foundation over the top. Powder catches far more easily in particular regions, usually the first point of contact between the skin and brush. This can create a severe uneven distribution of colour, which makes an irregular consistency and complexion.
I did feel that Eco Minerals provided fantastic, natural looking coverage, again, much fuller than I anticipated for a powder, which is perfect for covering up those blemishes. A little goes a lot a long way so use it sparingly and brush it on softly. The foundation stayed on for hours and still looked flawless at the end of the day.
All in all I would definitely recommend this brand. I love that it is made from all natural ingredients and provides exceptional coverage whilst still allowing my skin to breath.
