Before we give you our 6 simple tips to stay hydrated from within & on your skin, here are a few things we should try to stop doing. We can (accidentally) deplete our skin’s water content by:
● Spending too much time in bone-chilling cold or sweltering heat
● Using harsh soaps, detergents & chemicals
● Using rough sponges & exfoliating products
● Taking long, hot showers & baths

We’re only human so don’t worry if you do one (or all) of the above. Instead, try our simple hydration tips to start living your best Nourished Life.

1. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!
It’s no surprise that sunscreen constantly makes our list. Sunscreen helps protect against free radicals from UV rays that damage your skin barrier. This damage can lead to dry and irritated skin. So, using sunscreen daily is the best, best prevention. We love using Life Basics SPF30 Facial Sunscreen & Antipodes Immortal SPF15 Moisturiser.

2. Seek out hydrating skincare ingredients
It’s time to work smarter, not harder with our skincare routines! By finding natural products with hyaluronic acid, squalane or ceramides, you’re giving your skin the extra moisture boosting ingredients it needs to stay healthy. Try this Ultra Rich Moisturiser with hydrating hyaluronic acid, plant-based squalane & other moisturising ingredients, or our favourite Bakuchiol Restorative Serum for effortlessly hydrated skin.

3. Add a hydrating face mask to your routine
Using a hydrating mask once a week is such an easy way to add extra water to your skin in a concentrated manner. Even better if you grab a few face masks with the hydrating & soothing properties of aloe vera, green tea or vitamins A, E & C. Like we said, work smarter, not harder. Psst"¦try the Matcha Oat Milk Nourishing Mask, Radically Rejuvenating Sheet Mask and Soothing Hydration Recovery Maskfor a good time.

4. Drink (or eat) more water
Drinking water is the easiest thing you can do to stay hydrated, but it’s also the easiest thing to forget when you lead a busy lifestyle. If drinking water falls off your daily to-do list, try carrying a reusable water bottle with you everywhere. And we mean EVERYWHERE. Then boost your hydration further with water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumber, leafy greens, celery & zucchini!

5. Steer clear of harsh cleansers
Your skin and hydration will thank you for it. Instead try a gentle, natural cleanser with nourishing ingredients. If you need a super gentle cleanser, try Weleda’s hypoallergenic cleansing lotion or Pai’s Rosehip Cleansing Oil. Noosa Basics Foaming Face Wash is also perfect for all skin types, and if you want to keep the whole family hydrated, grab the Mankind Cleanser & Shaving Emulsion and Juniper’s Teen Cleanser too.

6. Make hydration fun
By adding different fruity flavours to your water! Not only will it be more enjoyable, you’ll also get the extra health benefits - and who doesn’t love multitasking goodness?! The Kissed Earth Collagen Booster can be added to water for a collagen boost & a delicious, natural pineapple and coconut flavour. We also love Tropeaka’s Coconut Water Powder because it makes staying hydrated so, so easy.
